Not only does Cherry Tree have the best food in Healesville, but more importantly, they're an absolute benchmark for how they treat their staff. Petra and Stephen employ young staff and do everything to give them the best experiences in hospitality, with parental, generous & kind training and a family environment that's funny & encouraging. Especially unusual for hospitality, they also support & happily employ teenagers with a disability, like our daughter who suffers juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and a life long pain condition. Petra and Stephen should win employer awards. Employers like them are THAT valuable in society - this is THE business to support in Healesville if you care about young staff, brilliant food and coffee and owners who really do care for their workers. (Order the french toast - omg Stephen rocks. Perfect every time for brekkie).
Lovely BLT (bacon lettuce and tomatoe roll) $15. Nice coffee. Slightly "get it yourself" atmosphere but otherwise charming.
Had an amazing time at the cafe. We were visiting with our dogs and we took seat at the back of the cafe. I had ordered the spiced tofu salad and it was amazing. Our dogs loved the cafe as well.The staff was very nice as well and weren't faxed by the size of dogs. Coffee was great as well.
A fantastic, funky little Cafe. It was so nice to see that dogs are welcome in the courtyard, not that I have a dog, but dog friendly cafes always make me happy. The food was brilliant, it had great coffee and really friendly staff. Very much recommended this place!
